Prior to attending law school, Jerry worked for several years in the central Illinois as union construction laborer out of the Laborers’ International Union, Local 231. Although Collin grew up in Green Bay, the Mettelka family has been part of the Vilas County community since 1938, when his Great-Great Grandfather, John J. Mettelka, built a cabin in Plum Lake, Wisconsin. Since that time, his family has maintained strong roots in Vilas County.
